Assessing the Impact of Demographic and Social Factors on the Profitability of Commercial Banks in Uzbekistan

The article examines the impact of demographic and social factors on the return on assets (ROA) of the banking system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in particular state-owned commercial banks. Correlation and regression analyses were conducted based on data from 9 banks for 2016–2024. The results showed that population growth rates, the proportion of age groups, the ratio of urban and rural population, and social factors have different impacts on bank profitability. The article provides practical recommendations for improving the financial efficiency of the banking system
