Artificial intelligence in language education: enhancing communicative competence through digital innovation
Abstract
This study investigates the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in language education, with a particular focus on enhancing communicative competence. In the era of rapid technological advancement, AI-powered tools are increasingly integrated into educational environments to facilitate personalized, adaptive, and interactive learning experiences. The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of AI technologies on language acquisition, speech culture development, and learner engagement.
The study employs qualitative research methods, including a comprehensive review of contemporary literature, observation of AI-assisted classrooms, and analysis of students’ communicative performance. The findings reveal that AI significantly improves pronunciation, fluency, and grammatical accuracy through real-time feedback and adaptive learning systems. Furthermore, AI-driven platforms foster student autonomy and motivation by offering individualized learning paths.
However, the study also identifies several challenges, such as technological dependency, limited teacher training, and ethical concerns related to data privacy. The results suggest that a balanced integration of AI and traditional teaching methods is essential for maximizing educational outcomes.
The study concludes that AI has substantial potential to reshape language education by strengthening communicative competence and speech culture, thus preparing learners for the demands of the digital society.
