The Importance of Management in Small Business

Abstract

Small businesses play a vital role in economic development by generating employment, fostering innovation, and supporting local communities. However, their success largely depends on the effectiveness of management practices. This study examines the importance of management in small businesses, focusing on key managerial functions such as planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. Drawing on existing literature, the paper highlights how strategic management, human resource management, and financial control contribute to business sustainability and growth. The findings suggest that well-developed managerial competencies enable small business owners to adapt to dynamic market conditions, improve performance, and achieve long-term success. The study also emphasizes the need for continuous management development and the adoption of modern management approaches in small enterprises.
