Basic physiological properties of the autonomic nervous system

The parasympathetic nervous system begins in the midbrain, medulla oblongata and caudate nucleus of the spinal cord. The centers of the parasympathetic nervous system are the nuclei located in the midbrain (III pair of cranial nerves), and the nuclei of the internal tail nerves located in the caudal part of the spinal cord.
