Load Balancing Mechanisms and Their Practical Implications: Evidence from the 2025 UZAuto Cobalt Contracting System Failure

This study examines the role of load balancing in ensuring performance, scalability, and high availability in distributed computing environments. Through a combination of simulated experiments and real-world analysis, the study demonstrates how different load balancing algorithms—such as Round Robin, Least Connections, and Weighted Round Robin—affect traffic distribution and system stability. A real-world case study based on the UZAuto Cobalt online contract event on November 3, 2025, is combined to highlight the consequences of inadequate traffic distribution mechanisms under overload. During this event, 100,000 contracts were reviewed, 876 customer requests were sent, and 560 cyberattacks were launched on the system, resulting in temporary server downtime due to overload and improper load balancing. The findings highlight that robust load balancing, combined with health checks, redundancy, and security layers, is essential to prevent service outages and ensure reliable access during congestion
