The rational and economic feasibility of cleaning and storing heavily contaminated and damp hand- and machine-picked raw cotton were investigated. The causes of spontaneous heating of raw cotton in bales and covered storage facilities were determined. The process of shovelling raw cotton using a centrifugal fan during transport through a suction pipeline was studied
