Civil-law mechanisms for the protection of personal data

This article analyzes the civil law mechanisms for protecting personal data. It examines the legal status of personal data in the current legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the procedures for collecting, storing, processing, and disseminating them, as well as guarantees for protecting citizens' rights in these processes. Comparative analysis with international legal standards, particularly the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is conducted, and proposals for improving national legislation are provided
