Analysis of Pragmatic Intentions Represented through Allusions in “The Girl and the Habit”

This article examines the pragmatic intentions represented through allusions in the literary work “The Girl and the Habit.” The study focuses on how allusive expressions function as communicative and stylistic devices that convey implicit meanings, shape readers’ interpretations, and reveal the author’s ideological intentions. Through pragmatic and discourse analysis, the research investigates religious, cultural, and social allusions embedded in the text and explains their influence on characterization, emotional expression, and contextual meaning. The findings demonstrate that allusions strengthen the aesthetic impact of the literary text and create deeper interaction between the author and the reader by activating shared cultural knowledge and interpretative competence.
