Ways to effectively use literary sources in the process of teaching history

Annotatsiya

This article analyzes the theoretical and practical aspects of effectively using literary sources in the process of teaching history. The author emphasizes that the main objective of history education is to cultivate intellectually developed individuals who contribute to the progress of society and the state. In history instruction, literary sources — including textbooks, historical documents, scholarly works, and fiction — play a crucial role in shaping students’ historical thinking. The paper explores the advantages of the “Bibliotarykh” method, which promotes the study of historical topics through works of fiction. In particular, the works of Mirkarim Osim, Pirimqul Qodirov, Abdulla Qodiriy, Cho‘lpon, Tog‘ay Murod, and other writers are identified as effective tools for fostering analytical thinking, spiritual growth, and aesthetic perception among learners. The conclusion highlights that the integration of fiction into history teaching significantly contributes to students’ moral, intellectual, and cultural development, while encouraging them to form a conscious and critical understanding of historical processes
